Joe Sandillo with Exeter South America assisted us with organizing our Brazil trip to Anavilhanas Lodge, including fly fishing arrangements and transportation coordination. Everything generally went smoothly, and it was helpful having someone coordinate the logistics for a more complicated international trip. We enjoyed the experience and appreciated the support with planning.

Exeter Latin America and Joe Sandillo were great in planning our travels. We were in Chile for three weeks and had six inland flights. They organized all our hotels and flights and everything went very smooth. They had given us great advice on where to stay, and guides they arranged for us also were fantastic.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

When is the best time to visit Ecuador and the Galápagos?

Ecuador and the Galápagos can be visited year-round. The Galápagos experiences relatively modest seasonal changes, with different periods offering different wildlife and water conditions.

We recommend at least 7–10 days for a combination of mainland Ecuador and the Galápagos. A longer journey allows time to explore Quito, the Andes, or the Amazon before or after the islands.

We recommend planning at least six months in advance. For Galápagos cruises, particularly during peak travel periods, nine–twelve months or more is recommended because of limited availability on the most sought-after expedition yachts and itineraries.

Both offer excellent ways to experience the islands. A luxury expedition cruise allows you to reach more remote islands, while a land-based safari offers a more flexible experience from a comfortable island-based property.

Yes. Quito, the Andes, cloud forests, and the Amazon can all be combined with the Galápagos.

Domestic flights are the most efficient way to connect Quito with the Galápagos and other regions of mainland Ecuador. Once in the islands, boats and local flights connect different destinations, while private transfers can be arranged on the mainland.

Our private journeys are carefully planned with trusted local partners, guides, and hotels. Exeter Latin America works with partners we know and rely on to provide local support and ensure our travelers have a safe and comfortable experience.

The islands are famous for their extraordinary endemic wildlife, including giant tortoises, marine iguanas, sea lions, penguins, and numerous bird species. Snorkeling and boat excursions also provide opportunities to experience the remarkable marine life.

Yes. The islands offer luxury expedition yachts, boutique accommodations, private guides, and carefully designed wildlife experiences.

Yes. Ecuador and Peru make an excellent combination, particularly for travelers interested in the Galápagos and Machu Picchu. Exeter Latin America offers journeys combining the Galápagos, Quito, Lima, the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, and luxury rail travel.
